Free tierNo free tier at any of the four. Entry prices, each read from that host's own page through its dossier/compute record: RackNerd USD 21.99/year for 1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD and 3000 GB a month; DediRock Yearly Promo VPS Saver USD 10.88/year for 10 GB SSD, 1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 1 TB bandwidth, 1 IPv4; VolpaByte EUR 3.49 a month for the 4 GB rung, with a free test server sold alongside; Datalix EUR 2.45 a month for the cheapest in-stock rung.
unit none; metered on none; Four hosts, four prices, none of them free. The prices are carried here from dossier/compute/racknerd.json, dossier/compute/dedirock.json, dossier/compute/volpabyte-ryzen-kvm-8gb.json and dossier/compute/datalix.json, which read the vendor pages on 2026-10-22 and 2026-10-24. This record exists for the ASN field, not the price, so the price is quoted only to establish that the four are buyable.
Priceno per-TB figure is published by any of the four; entry prices are USD 21.99/year (RackNerd), USD 10.88/year (DediRock), EUR 3.49/month (VolpaByte) and EUR 2.45/month (Datalix)
Per-object capnot applicable
Retentionnot applicable: an address, not an object
EgressThe traffic position differs per host and none of the four quotes an ASN in it. Datalix states 10 TB a month on a 1 Gbit uplink and, on exhaustion, quotes 'wird die Geschwindigkeit Ihres Servers auf 10 MB/s (80Mbit/s) begrenzt', with more traffic buyable. RackNerd's specials page lists 3000 GB a month on a 1 Gbps port. DediRock's card states 1 TB of bandwidth and prints no period and no overage price. VolpaByte's plan page lists a 1 Gbit/s connection and no traffic figure at all; its homepage's older copy said 'unlimited traffic'.
free_allowance: 10 TB a month (Datalix), 3000 GB a month (RackNerd), 1 TB with no period printed (DediRock), not stated (VolpaByte)
Identityemail The set does not share one gate, and the weakest documented is an email address. Datalix's order page shows the sign-up fields 'Nutzername', 'E-Mail', 'Passwort' and 'Sprache', with no phone field and no identity document; payment is a prepaid account balance. VolpaByte's registration form asks for name, email, phone with a full country selector and address, and its payment step could not be read because the order store was empty: unverified rather than none. RackNerd's signup requirement and DediRock's were not read in their lanes and are recorded there as unverified and not read, so this record does not claim a gate for them.
Limits
  • volume-quota 3000 GB a month of transfer on a 1 Gbps port on the RackNerd specials ladder source
  • volume-quota 1 TB of bandwidth on a 1 Gbps connection, with no period and no overage price printed on the card source
  • volume-quota 10 TB a month, then the port is shaped to 10 MB/s (80Mbit/s); more traffic is buyable source
  • volume-quota traffic not stated on the plan page, which lists only a 1 Gbit/s connection; the homepage's older copy said unlimited traffic source
  • retention-clamped the Datalix server is locked at the end of the prepaid term and deleted 5 days later, taking its address with it source
The constraint this record is actually about names no kind in the vocabulary: the ASN is not a property of the host. RackNerd holds no ASN of its own and its published test addresses sit in AS35916, AS198566 and AS40676; DediRock holds none and its test addresses sit in AS36352 and AS40676; VolpaByte's Frankfurt location exits from AS24940 Hetzner; Datalix's own AS218841 announces zero prefixes and its traffic leaves via AS58087. A field that names one ASN per host therefore cannot describe any of the four, and the same host answers differently depending on which location was bought.
Bindingnone At about 45 GB a month across about 599,000 requests no volume quota in this set is close: the smallest allowance is DediRock's 1 TB, whose period the card does not print, and even read as a monthly figure that is roughly 22 times the client's monthly volume; the others are 10 TB a month and 3000 GB a month. What fails first is not a quota but the record shape: an ASN is per location and sometimes not the host's at all, so a single-ASN field per host is wrong before any traffic is sent.
Interfacessh, cli A VPS is reached by SSH into a root shell, plus the vendor's web control panel: RackNerd, DediRock and Datalix sell KVM guests with root; VolpaByte sells KVM with a WHMCS client area. The egress leaves from the guest's own address, so a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy is something the client runs on the guest, not a protocol the host sells. The commission's interface vocabulary (api, socks5, http-proxy, wireguard, openvpn, web-ui, none) is not in scripts/dossier/schema.json's enum, which accepts only the storage-flavoured tokens, so ssh and cli are used here and the proxy detail is stated in this field and in tooling.
ToolingAny SSH client, plus whatever proxy the client runs on the guest: a SOCKS5 or HTTP listener, an SSH -D tunnel, or a WireGuard server if the host allows it. No host in this set sells a proxy endpoint or a proxy wrapper, and no wrapper existing is not a rejection: the resource is a machine with a routable address, which is what a proxy needs.
Composes withOne cheap VPS per ASN the client wants to hold, each running a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy, fronted by the Cloudflare-Workers AI gateway as the egress pool: the gateway picks the upstream, the guest supplies the address, and the ASN seen by the far end is whatever the location's upstream announces, which is the fact this record establishes.
ReliabilityThe exit's reputation belongs to whichever upstream announces the address, not to the host named on the invoice: RackNerd's addresses resolve to HostPapa/ColoCrossing, Multacom, Mamut Rahal and Psychz space, and Datalix's own AS218841 announces nothing while its front end sits in Florian Kolb's AS58087. A host that changes upstream changes the ASN under an unchanged product.
NotesThis record exists because the obvious shape for an ASN field is wrong. Candidates for how a host's ASN could be established, and what testing each produced: (1) take the host's own claim or its marketing page, which is refuted for all four because none of the four pages read names an ASN at all; (2) look up an ASN registered to the host's name, which returned nothing for RackNerd, DediRock and VolpaByte in RIPEstat searchcomplete and a 404 in ARIN RDAP entity search, and returned AS218841 for Datalix with zero announced prefixes; (3) resolve each host's published test address and read the origin ASN, which is the method that produced every ASN here and the only one that answers the question. The third is what this record carries. It also shows the field is not one value per host but one per location: RackNerd's published test addresses span AS35916, AS198566, AS40676 and AS36352, DediRock's span AS36352 and AS40676, and Datalix's own ASN carries none of its traffic. Any future record that writes one ASN for a multi-location host is a defect, and this file is the evidence for that rule. Two things are stated with less certainty than the rest. Second, VolpaByte: the commission says its Frankfurt location exits from AS24940 Hetzner, and three published YABS runs of VolpaByte Frankfurt guests plus the vendor's own hostnames all return AS211301 Unesty Company, which contradicts it; The structural finding survives either answer, because AS211301 is no more VolpaByte's ASN than AS24940 is. On the interface vocabulary: the commission's list (api, socks5, http-proxy, wireguard, openvpn, web-ui, none) is not in scripts/dossier/schema.json's enum, which the gate enforces and which offers only storage-flavoured tokens, so this record uses ssh and cli, both schema-valid, and states the proxy detail in interface_detail and tooling. On the compute topic: dossier/compute/ holds 1336 records and none carries an ASN field of any kind, which was checked by walking every record's keys, not by grepping prose; five records mention an ASN inside tooling or evidence prose and none of those is a field. This record does not correct a wrong ASN in dossier/compute/racknerd.json, dedirock.json, volpabyte-ryzen-kvm-8gb.json or datalix.json, because those files assert no ASN; it supplies the field they lack, and it names them so a later session does not add one ASN to each and call it done.
Evidence rungdocumented The ASN half of the verdict is measured: every ASN in this record was resolved with RIPEstat on 2026-10-24, and the zero-prefix answer for AS218841 was read from as-overview and announced-prefixes, not from a vendor claim. The price and availability half is documented from dossier/compute, read 2026-10-22 and 2026-10-24, and the verdict cannot stand without it, so the weaker rung governs.

2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS218841AS218841 announces zero prefixes, v4 and v6 alike. This is the zero in the headline and it is a count, not an inference from the absent holder page.

2026-10-24stat.ripe.net/AS24940AS24940's holder is HETZNER-AS Hetzner Online GmbH with 96 announced prefixes, so the ASN the commission attributes to VolpaByte's Frankfurt location exists and is a hosting network. The holder is established; the attribution of VolpaByte's traffic to it is not.

Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Hetzner IP and proxies

fails: egresscardcardDretention-clamped

stat.ripe.net/resource/AS31898 · cloud egress · ip-proxy/clouds-as-exit-sources · JSON · compare

Free tierOracle Always Free includes 1,500 OCPU-hours and 9,000 GB-hours a month plus 10 TB/month of egress, on a card that takes a USD 1.00 authorisation and reverses it. Google Cloud's free tier includes an e2-micro with 1 GB/month of egress. AWS includes 750 public-IPv4 hours a month. Azure and Hetzner record no free allowance: Azure's price cells all render as $- and Hetzner's /29 is sold at EUR 13.60/month plus EUR 34.90 setup.
unit mixed; metered on wall-clock; The unit is genuinely mixed: Oracle's and AWS's free allowances are hour-denominated (OCPU-hours, GB-hours, 750 hours) and the egress allowances are byte-denominated (10 TB/month, 1 GB/month). metered_on names the hour because that is the shape of the headline quota
Pricenot a per-TB product: addresses are billed per hour or per prefix — USD 0.005/h, USD 3.65/month, per address on Google Cloud and AWS; EUR 2.27 per usable IP per month on Hetzner; Azure unverified
Per-object capnot applicable
Retentionnot applicable: an address, not an object. The nearest equivalent is the instance holding it: Oracle reclaims an Always Free compute instance that sits at 7-day p95 idle, and the address goes with the machine.
EgressMetered, with a large free allowance on Oracle and a small one on Google Cloud: Oracle includes 10 TB/month on Always Free, Google Cloud's free e2-micro includes 1 GB/month, and AWS bills the address itself at USD 0.005/h with 750 free hours. Hetzner bills a /29 at EUR 13.60/month plus EUR 34.90 setup. Azure's address prices render as $- and are unverified.
free_allowance: Oracle 10 TB/month on Always Free; Google Cloud free e2-micro 1 GB/month; AWS 750 public-IPv4 hours/month
Identitycard Oracle's Always Free tier takes a card and reverses a USD 1.00 authorisation; that is the signup gate the facts establish, and it is recorded for Oracle only. The other four providers' signup gates were not re-tested, so nothing here claims they are lighter or heavier.
Limits
  • retention-clamped 7-day p95 idle reclaim on Oracle Always Free: the machine is taken back and the address with it source
  • volume-quota Oracle Always Free includes 10 TB/month of egress, about 222 times the client's 45 GB/month source
  • volume-quota Google Cloud free e2-micro includes 1 GB/month of egress, which 45 GB/month exceeds about 45 times over source
  • volume-quota AWS includes 750 public-IPv4 hours a month, which covers one address continuously (744 hours in a 31-day month) with 6 hours spare source
  • volume-quota Google Cloud external IPv4 costs USD 0.005/h while in use, USD 3.65/month, with no free allowance stated source
Three constraints fit none of the seven. Cost: Hetzner's /29 is EUR 13.60 a month plus EUR 34.90 setup, EUR 2.27 per usable IP, and AWS and Google Cloud charge USD 0.005/h per address, USD 3.65 a month. Unverified price: Azure offers a /29 public IP prefix but every price cell on its pricing page renders as $-, so the price of that prefix is unverified rather than zero. Denominator: the five publish different address products — a prefix, a single address, a subnet — so the per-address cost is comparable and the capacity is not.
Bindingretention-clamped At 45 GB a month across about 599,000 requests nothing here is near a byte or request ceiling except Google Cloud's 1 GB/month free egress, and crossing that produces a bill rather than a stop; Oracle's 7-day p95 idle reclaim is the only constraint that removes the address, so it is the one that ends the arrangement.
Interfacerest, cli Each provider exposes its own REST API and CLI for address objects, so rest is the nearest token in the closed set and cli is the other half. The schema's enum has no token for a cloud provider API and none for a subnet product. The address is a resource in the account: an external IPv4 on Google Cloud, a public IPv4 on AWS, a public IP prefix on Azure, a subnet on Hetzner, a public IP on an Oracle VNIC.
ToolingThe provider's own REST API, SDK and CLI. No third-party wrapper exists or is needed, because the address is a resource in the account rather than a product with its own protocol. a user's work is a small driver that creates an instance, attaches the address, and recreates it when the provider takes the machine back — access is not the problem here.
Composes withOne of these sits behind the Workers AI gateway as the egress hop: the Worker calls the instance, the instance dials out from a cloud address, and because every one of the five is a single ASN the chain buys a second provider rather than a second network.
ReliabilityAll five are datacenter ranges inside a provider's own direct allocation, so an exit carries that cloud ASN's reputation, and on Oracle the address disappears with the reclaimed machine.
NotesWhat this record is for. The compute topic owns the prices: dossier/compute/oracle-cloud.json, dossier/compute/google-cloud-free-tier.json, dossier/compute/aws-free-plan-t4g.json and dossier/compute/hetzner-cloud.json each carry the free-tier shape and the egress terms, and this record does not correct any of them. What none of them records is the ASN or the allocation class — a grep for AS31898, AS396982, AS16509, AS8075 and AS24940 across dossier/ returns only dossier/ip-proxy/thespeedx-proxy-list.json, where an exit ASN appears incidentally. A reader wanting a price goes there; a reader wanting the network position comes here, and neither record is a view of the other. Three candidates for why a cloud box would not serve as an exit source, tested rather than assumed. (1) The addresses are datacenter ranges whose reputation is the provider's. Confirmed: RDAP on 129.146.0.1 returns type DIRECT ALLOCATION under netname OPC1 covering 129.144.0.0-129.159.255.255, and the four other ASNs are the providers' own registered networks, so every exit is a cloud block and not a residential one. (2) More addresses or a bigger prefix would buy diversity. Refuted, and this is the rung-5 refutation: a /29 at Hetzner is eight addresses out of one allocation inside one ASN, and 19,416 IPv4 prefixes inside AS16509 are still one registration — the count is capacity, not independence. (3) Cost is the blocker. Refuted: at 45 GB/month Oracle's 10 TB/month and AWS's 750 free hours leave the bytes and the address nearly free, and Hetzner's EUR 2.27 per usable IP is small, so the verdict is not paid-only and the failure is the registration class rather than the invoice. One sample, said plainly. The RDAP read is a single address, 129.146.0.1, from a single provider, and the allocation class of the other four is inferred from their ASN ownership plus the fact that each sells cloud compute out of its own ranges rather than from an RDAP object of their own. The class claim would be measured for all five with one RDAP lookup per provider, which was not run; nothing in the verdict turns on which of them is a direct allocation, only that none of them is a residential or resold-end-user network. Denominators, recorded rather than smoothed. The assigned facts count Oracle's 3,861 as announced prefixes and the other three as IPv4 only. Re-read today: AS31898 3,861 total and 2,852 v4; AS396982 3,924 total and 3,558 v4; AS16509 25,440 total and 19,416 v4; AS8075 1,355 total and 1,233 v4; AS24940 96 total and 91 v4. So Google Cloud's 3,558 and Azure's 1,233 reproduce exactly, Oracle's 3,861 is the total, and AWS's 19,507 had become 19,416 within the same day, which is announcement churn rather than a contradiction. The conclusion does not turn on any of these numbers being exact: it turns on each provider having one ASN and one allocation. Hetzner's ASN was not in the assigned facts. It was read as AS24940 HETZNER-AS Hetzner Online GmbH, 96 announced prefixes, so the fifth provider's registration is measured rather than borrowed, and the record says where the addition came from. Nothing else was added to the assigned facts. What a static fetch can and cannot re-prove. Oracle's free-tier page, AWS's free page, Azure's pricing page and Hetzner's cloud page render their tables client-side: the HTML I fetched carries no copy of 1,500 OCPU-hours, 9,000 GB-hours, 10 TB, 750 hours, the Azure prefix price or EUR 13.60 plus EUR 34.90, so those are the session's readings of the rendered pages and the evidence entries say so. What I did re-prove from the bytes: the four AS names and prefix counts and the fifth ASN, the RDAP object for 129.146.0.1, Google Cloud's 0.005 / 1 hour line, and Azure's price cells rendering as $- with data-hide-meter-type-if-no-price='true'. That last one is why Azure's price is unverified rather than zero, and it is the one cell a later session should reopen: a rendered pricing page or a cost-management export from an account would settle it. On shape: the assignment names the interface tokens api, cli, rest, socks5, http-proxy, wireguard, openvpn, web-ui and none, but scripts/dossier/schema.json closes interface[] to its own enum and scripts/dossier/validate.py enforces it, so the array carries rest and cli, both of which are in the enum, and the address products are named in interface_detail. This record needs no proxy-protocol token, so the gap that dossier/ip-proxy/thespeedx-proxy-list.json documents does not bite here, but it is the same gap. Searched dossier/ and docs/ for an existing record naming these five as exit sources to correct or supersede; there is none, and docs/ip-proxy does not exist yet, so this record corrects nothing outside itself.
Evidence rungdocumented The ASN numbers and holders are measured here with RIPE prefix-overview. The allocation CLASS is measured for Oracle only (RDAP on 129.146.0.1) and inferred for the other four from ASN ownership, and the verdict rests on the class. The weakest rung therefore decides: documented, not measured.

2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/as-overview?resource=AS31898AS31898 holder is ORACLE-BMC-31898 - Oracle Corporation and the ASN is announced; re-read, so the AS name is measured rather than remembered.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS318983,861 prefixes announced, of which 2,852 are IPv4, so the record's 3,861 is a total and not a v4 count.
2026-10-24rdap.arin.net/registry/ip/129.146.0.1RDAP object NET-129-144-0-0-1, name OPC1, type DIRECT ALLOCATION, covering 129.144.0.0-129.159.255.255: the address is a provider direct allocation, not a resold end-user block.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/as-overview?resource=AS396982AS396982 holder is GOOGLE-CLOUD-PLATFORM - Google LLC.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS3969823,558 IPv4 prefixes out of 3,924 announced, reproducing the assigned v4 figure exactly.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/as-overview?resource=AS16509AS16509 holder is AMAZON-02 - Amazon.com, Inc.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS1650919,416 IPv4 prefixes out of 25,440 announced at re-check, against 19,507 assigned earlier the same day, so the count is a snapshot that moves within a day and the finding is order of magnitude.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/as-overview?resource=AS8075AS8075 holder is MICROSOFT-CORP-MSN-AS-BLOCK - Microsoft Corporation.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS80751,233 IPv4 prefixes out of 1,355 announced, reproducing the assigned v4 figure exactly.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/as-overview?resource=AS24940AS24940 holder is HETZNER-AS Hetzner Online GmbH; this ASN was not in the assigned facts and was read, so the fifth provider's registration is measured rather than assumed.
2026-10-24probe:stat.ripe.net/data/announced-prefixes?resource=AS2494096 prefixes announced, 91 of them IPv4, an order of magnitude smaller than any of the four clouds and the whole of Hetzner's single registration.
2026-10-24www.oracle.com/cloud/free/Oracle Always Free states 1,500 OCPU-hours and 9,000 GB-hours a month plus 10 TB/month of egress, with a card and a reversed USD 1.00 authorisation; the served HTML carries no static copy of those figures, so re-proving them needs the rendered page.
2026-10-24cloud.google.com/vpc/pricingThe external IP address pricing line reads 0.005 / 1 hour in the static HTML, which is USD 0.005 per external IPv4 hour, about USD 3.65 a month.
2026-10-24aws.amazon.com/free/AWS's free tier lists 750 public-IPv4 hours a month and public IPv4 at USD 0.005/h; the page's tables are client-rendered, so the figure is the session's reading and not a static parse.
2026-10-24azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/ip-addresses/Every price cell renders as <span class='price-value'>$-</span> carrying data-hide-meter-type-if-no-price='true', so the Azure address price is unverified rather than zero; the /29 public IP prefix product is the assigned fact and the string did not appear in the static HTML I fetched, so that half is not re-proved here.
2026-10-24www.hetzner.com/cloud/Hetzner's cloud page is the price source for the contiguous /29 at EUR 13.60/month plus EUR 34.90 setup, EUR 2.27 per usable IP; the price table is client-rendered, so the figures are the session's reading and not a static parse.

Hosting a probe earns credits, and credits buy measurements - not bytes and not disk. A software probe can run on your own infrastructure, which makes it the most accessible thing in this whole slot (no shipping, no institution), but it is a measurement vantage point with trivial bandwidth and no storage. Anchors are bigger and require a datacentre-grade commitment plus approval.
Bindingwrite-gated the write is a queue with a person or a rule in it, so the upload rate is set by somebody else
